  5. About this demonstration version:
  6. This is a demonstration version of the Jack Nicklaus 4 golf simulation. A separate demo of the Golf Course Designer is also available. This demo includes the first three holes from Muirfield Village Golf Club. The following list describes what is in this demo:

  8. *Play 3 holes of golf.
  9. *Use one animated golfer.
  10. *Play Stroke Play only.
  11. *Single player or shared keyboard modes of play only.

  13. The full version will include:

  15. *Five Jack Nicklaus Design Golfer Courses.
  16. *A Golf Course Designer to build your own courses.
  17. *Stroke Play, Match Play, Best Score Competitions, Sudden Death, Skins, and Bingo Bango Bongo.
  18. *Multiplayer gaming via LAN, Serial Cable, Modem, Internet and Shared Keyboard.
  19. *Screen display with millions of colors at any resolution your video card supports.
  20. *5 Golfers to play as, plus play against Jack Nicklaus.

  26. Installation:
  27. 1.  Expand the compressed demo file called "JN4_Demo"
  28. 2.  Open the "JN4Instl" Directory
  29. 3.  Double Click the "Setup.exe" icon
  30. 4.  Follow the installations instructions that appear on your screen.

  32. Known problems that will be fixed in the final version:
  33. *On some machines, the swing meter will occasionally hesitate.
  34. *Some stats are not accurate.
  35. *Maximum resolution of 800x600

  37. Basic Controls:
  38. Right/Left Arrow        Aiming
  39. Up/Down Arrow            Intensity (easy or hard swing with chosen club)
  40. Control Key and Rt/Lt Arrow    Fade/Draw shot
  41. Control Key and Up/Dn Arrow    High/Low shot

  43. All controls can also be made with the mouse.

  45. Swing Meter        
  46. Click on the golfer or hit the space bar to bring up the meter. Click once to start meter, click again at power mark (top) and again at accuracy mark (bottom). Power mark corresponds to clubs distance as seen in the Club Info area and will be accurate based on shot hit off level fairway with no wind (in other words, need to compensate for shots out of rough, sand, etc.).

  52. Choose Animate Grid in the View menu to get additional terrain help.
